Beckie and her husband of 27 years, Jim, are the parents of two sons, Brady, 25, and Joseph, 24. Huge sports fans, the entire family has been involved in San Marcos youth sports. Both sons were enrolled in San Marcos schools from kindergarten through 12th grade, subsequently attending Palomar College and continuing to four- year universities. Beckie graduated with honors from San Diego
State University, where she earned a B.A. in
English with a minor in Psychology, as well as
a secondary teaching credential. She com-
pleted her M.A. in English at the University
of California, Irvine.
